What Is The NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a nationwide Australian Government scheme that funds for reasonable and necessary support costs associated with disability.

The scheme was launched in 2014 with an expected full rollout in 2018. The scheme has been designed to give people with a disability greater choice and control over the support they receive, provide eligible individuals with funding based on their personal needs, lifelong goals and aspirations.

The National Disability Insurance Agency is responsible to implement NDIS that sims to support thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers

Who Is Eligible For NDIS?

To access the NDIS you need to meet the following requirements:

● you have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
● you are under 65 years old when you first access the scheme
● you are an Australian citizen, live in Australia and hold a permanent visa, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
